The Milwaukee Area Workforce Funding Alliance (WFA) is an employer-driven consortium of private and public funders of workforce development dedicated to increasing the Milwaukee region’s employment environment – to the benefit of both Milwaukee’s businesses that need skilled workers and for the individuals seeking good jobs and careers with family-supporting wages. Drawing from a collaborative workforce funding template first introduced by the National Fund for Workforce Development, the Funding Alliance is designed to reduce / eliminate barriers to successful employment, while also filling gaps in the recruitment, training and support services provision for entry-level and incumbent workers.

The goals of the Funding Alliance are to (1) strengthen and expand the Milwaukee area workforce system by leveraging local investments, (2) build the capacity of the Milwaukee area workforce system both public and private, (3) improve career track opportunities for low-income individuals and incumbent workers, (4) help employers get the skilled workers they need, and (5) advocate for policies that establish, grow and sustain effective workforce partnerships in the Milwaukee area and Wisconsin region.

The Funding Alliance, and its workforce partners, help to improve job opportunities for workers and potential workers, along with hiring opportunities for employers, so that the region’s economy continues its transformation and enhances its competitive position.

We align our efforts to strengthen and expand the workforce system by leveraging local investment
